Closest to "being a fraud" is his apparently committing fraud, in a very literal & legal sense.

The thing about calling Musk a liar, fraud or similar is that it sort of overlooks how he's professed very destructive beliefs, often.
When he then does destructive things that fit the pattern of those beliefs, I'd hesitate to call that dishonest per se.

I guess I personally find this stuff with calling out Musk in particular, so often, a bit distasteful.
He's a complete asshole, but he is actually overseeing good work.
Hard to say the same e.g. for the billionaire handlers of his recent media enemies, or other billionaires.

Yeah, so I understand that point. I'm not sure it can be divided up that neatly, but I know a lot of people who feel differently. I think it's mistaken.
If I could erase 1000 billionaires with a snap of my fingers, I'd probably do it. I doubt Musk would be on that list, though.

It's more that I could give you a list right now if US billionaires that, were they jailed and their assets liquidated, would save potentially millions of lives over a decade.
