My fav. US political meme is how Trump "can't get anything done" because he's an idiot, despite him doing the unthinkable every few months.
The fact he's an idiot may well be a main reason why he's getting so many unusual things done, even if many of them are not Good Things.

Any actual politician: "If I do this it will destroy my career."
Trump: "I will do this."
And at this point, I'm not sure if he has much to lose by deploying that particular method over and over again.
