It's infuriating to talk to most Polish people about this.
They tend either to support "what is reparations" Germany talking points about Polish brutishness OR a carefully constructed fantasy land in which Poland is the Last Bastion of White European culture or some such BS.

Without circumstances radically changing, I'm struggling to compute the odds between autocracy and revolution.
Until then, expect the beatings to continue, or escalate as the situation in Ukraine worsens.
