Expanded reasoning: Maximizing the sorts of situations that give me a light tension headache and minimizing the sorts of situations that give me bad stomach aches (not butterflies - real pain) is doing me all sorts of good. Seems to hold for most people I've talked to about it.

Lots of really visceral emotional discomfort goes directly to the gut. The sort of situation where you feel like there is no right way forward goes directly to the gut. Impossible, traumatizing situations? To the gut.
