I'm not particularly a libertarian, but eh. I also had this reaction. Libertarians, I and others had this "apeshit" reaction because it was obvious who would profit by censorship. (Spoiler: It's powerful, censorious institutions.)

Libertarians also have the additional idea that you shouldn't have any sorts of rules governing verbal interactions. The more moderated position is that companies like Twitter/Facebook are not fit for making and enforcing these rules for everyone else.

Nobody should shed a tear for hacks like Milo and Alex Jones getting deplatformed. It's the manner in which it is done and the nature of that power that's worrying, for almost anyone capable of some forethought.
