Can somebody please make instrumental viking metal so I don't need to dedicate synapses to these asinine lyrics

Fiercer. Harder. This is a matter of life and death.'
Gods of the afterlife, spare my arse.

Viking metal lyrics have their moments. An earlier Amon Amarth album has a line “The earth moves under our feet” that is close enough to a Carole King song I laugh every time I hear it.

Despite Scandinavians’ excellent grasp of English I also find metal lyricists often use far too an informal tone when the speaker is a god or angel. Maybe I also need instrumental Viking metal so I stop getting distracted by this in the gym.

Think it might be a by-product of our own cultures.
In Norway especially, there is only one conversational register if you're not a snobb. In Sweden, if you aren't part of the upper class.
It's a sign of poor comprehension to port this into English, of course, but the Nordic languages are so similar to English that any idiot can become fully fluent.
