People who go into the western charity, intdev, & NGO sectors don't go into them for the money either. They go into them for the people. It doesn't stop those sectors being institutionally corrupt and ineffective. It takes more than individual conviction to change things.

People keep telling me @Ocasio2018 is going to go be corrupt if we give her time because that's what a typical politician does. I got news for you guys. AOC isn't a typical politician. People funded progressives aren't in it for the money. They're in it for the PEOPLE.
