The last on-site job I had, I had to quit because they expected such ludicrous doses of emotional performance at all times (was a sales job).
They essentially tried to hijack their employees' endocrine systems, and it showed in the people who had been there the longest. Creepy.

For every job in one industry that expects you to numb your feeling down and reduce your emotional range to less than an octave...
... there are others that demand you only play a certain chord progression, day in and day out. They may even expect to decide your beliefs for you.
