Predictably, certain journalists who have scoffed and prevaricated over rights violations and extrajudicial killings are now very concerned. Can't have states offing journalists. That's just wrong.

We've endured decades of think pieces from the anglophone press on why torture is sometimes justified, for Deeply Serious Reasons. That is, until some idiots decide torture a journalist. Then the press magically remembers torture is an unforgivable crime. Mystery, innit?
