Heartwarming episode: went to the train food wagon to get something to drink and was accosted by an old Polish alcoholic for... reading a book.
Was deciding how to react when the lady working at the bar told him to fuck off or be thrown off the train immediately.

This is probably a normal reaction in a lot of places, hut these swine are given far too much leeway in Poland.
I get having a drinking problem, but these people don't *just* have a drinking problem.
Glad to see it whenever the young people refuse to tolerate their antics.
Replying to
Especially the young women, who get the worst of it, with less than worthless pseudosolidarity ("why are you causing trouble?") from others.

Epilogue: he harassed some more passengers and tried to steal some stuff, so in the end we had him thrown off the train.
At the final stop, but eh. Small victories.

Completely, utterly done with any class-based sympathy for these dudes.
The women and other men of that generation were also thrown under the bus, but at worst they're unwittingly emotionally abusive and/or give terrible relationship advice.

I understand many of the worst cases were raised badly, and/or had their lives taken away in the 90s.
That does not excuse the domestic violence, paedophilia and peremptory rape threats directed at stranger they engage in.
