Interestingly, it took me about two minutes to flip the brain out of pattern-matching for cubes into "oh, just lines".
Even then, looking at the whole thing, the image starts shaking until a cube resolves.

it takes quite a while to settle for me, and usually I have to think of it as some kind of tesselated pattern of tiles or something to make it sit still. no wonder it's so hard to see the 'self' as a series of incredibly complex single frame sensory snapshots.

I tend to experience similar things after clear insights: the mind starts launching from interpretation to interpretation in more and more rapid flickers.
"I" as toe, "I" as thought, "I" as tension somewhere in the head... moving through configurations faster and faster.

I feel like that pretty much all the time. gradually learn to collapse the instability into more and more simple, and therefore stable, interpretations
