~700 downloads so far. Not bad for a zero promotional budget. All the reviews so far have been complimentary or at least amusingly harsh.

if you're only on page 23, I can guarantee it gets either massively better, or massively worse, depending on your perspective. ...but I'm glad you like it.

Around 60 now. Just plodding along in spurts.
Loving the personal stories & social commentary. Not as hot on the superantihero parts. Yet, anyway.
I'm guessing there's some autobiographical elements tucked in with the pre-suit days? The story there feels a lot tighter, somehow.

Not saying the nanotech slaughter is bad, mind.
But I find I read all the other parts without stopping, so for me there is definitely some important difference there.

funny, some people think that front load of character stuff is a bit clunky. other people find it very compelling. but yeah it is loosely based on aspects of my life around that time, to the point chapter 2 is just compressed autobiography.

That makes sense, yeah. It comes across as authentic, which is probably why I find it more appealing.
It's also a bit unclear if that part of the plot is set in the US, Canada or both - seeming contradictions in context, at times. But that could be sloppy reading on my part.

well ,in canada we are often more invovled US politics than our own, since what they do affects us more than what our own govenment does, quite often, so yes that part is set on vancouver island, but issues with wall street still hold our attention.

That's what I figured, but there are some small, odd references to US cities in there (I think). I'd have to dig them up, though.
I'm sure a bit more "this is here"-type context spots wouldn't hurt the story or reader's immersion, but that's very much so a stylistic choice...
