Oh, totally. The entire thing is a huge sideshow. I'd say it's overkill EVEN IN THE US, especially for such a relatively minor issue.
(I don't rate a misogynist appointed to the supreme court as more consequential than perpetual war, but maybe that's just me.)
If you've been the victim of abuse, this is a punch in the throat like any number of other disgusting examples of power and corruption on display worldwide.
But in the relative scheme of US inequities, it's small fry. Honestly.
