Can someone explain to me the dynamics involved with people who think curse words completely invalidate an idea or expression?

I can understand thinking it’s not professional but beyond that I really don’t get it- is it generational ?

My cultural framing is it's what we call a "hersketeknikk" in Norwegian - can't think of a perfect English analogue, don't think there is one.
It's essentially a way to put yourself in a socially dominant position, through very arbitrary means.

Sometimes it's also people who have been raised that way, internalized it and now see it as the Law.
Doesn't matter any longer if their families did it to keep them in line. Or rather, the traumatic learning makes it that much harder to shift.
Just my guess, of course.
