🤔 I think a sandwich requires distinct, separable pieces of bread. I think burritos and wraps are like, related to sandwiches, but the fact that we have different names for them is already kinda indicative of their 'similar but different' status twitter.com/gypsy_panther/

the phrase "morally justified" is interesting to me. i think morality is a contextual thing, so sometimes things are morally justified & sometimes they are not. also we'd have to define "loyalty" more precisely to make meaningful progress on this question twitter.com/mattguttmanorg

Not at all; the opposite actually. How else do we escape conformity than through self-expression? Every person is unique; it’s through expressing ourselves that we discover how we are different from each other

Do you think self-expression will be seen as the terrible deadening conformity of our time? And if you do, in whose service will you find perfect freedom?

It’s a good question, and I think it basically boils down to the fact that I somehow, most of the time, care more about responding to other people than to myself. Answering someone else’s question often feels like I did something useful to/for someone

Why have people ask you questions when you can make nonsense tweets that rile people up and make them question your soundness of thought?

For me it's the "ohshit" moment when I realize I've pissed someone off.
That's a very weird way to learn, now that I think of it.

Makes sense, I dare say there are some things that cannot truly be learned any other way
