If you shut up the chatty self-referencing mind, there is still occasionally chatty mind.
It just isn't the only player in the orchestra who gets to be on stage.

Perhaps they want to and need to quiet their minds a little? When I see people express those views, I see them expressing a need. If you've come to a more relaxed attitude, then you may already have sufficient quietness to use a less forceful method.

When I got into magic, back in the day, I got into something about two steps away from the worst and most vile version of those practices.
Incidentally, I was kind of a whimp at the time. It served a need.

Not saying that was a good thing, mind. But I feel it illustrates your point. Well, our point.
I really only take issue (with a school or system) if I disagree with its purpose in some way.
