I wish centrists would realise this is about more than Corbyn.
They can whine all they like, continue to convince themselves the Left are a lunatic fringe. It won't change the social forces at play.
Fascism, or some form of ecosocialism.

It won't work, even when it does.
They will use climate change the same way the Nazis used socialism: as a cover for a more exclusive dominance of the White rich people.
Only all inclusive and internationalist action stands any chance of success.

I have a bit of a contention with that. I think ecofascism is much more likely to come out of China or India.
Both of those countries are about to get hit very hard by climate change. And they're much more powerful, both economically and militarily, than they get credit for.

Yes. Currently.
It is also currently the most expedient path for China to set itself as diametrically opposed to the US. But, under, the same model of climate devastation, the US is toppled when the West coast desertifies itself.
I am not saying it *will* happen, though

Because neither humans nor states make decisions like that.
The current reality vs. the reality when food production tanks in major regions does not compare.
People become significantly more belligerent when they feel beset by external threats. China is *the* country building major green infrastructure. Imagine them looking at us.

I'm fairly confident that when it comes to the crunch, the number of countries that line up behind China would dwarf whatever coalition the US could cobble together.
In that respect, I think we can all agree that in the more immediate term, the US is the one to worry about.
