Someone mails you a card. It reads:
"This invitation admits two and is non-transferable."
Does the above language imply that the card mailed to you is all you need to attend the event?

Card indicated that it was necessary to RSVP by email. Then refers to itself as "This invitation."
Turns out one needed to email, await reply with link to ticketing system, log in to ticketing system, request ticket.

It's ambiguous, but an invitation to me implies that you need to accept before being granted admittance

That is what'a so confusing. I think what it means to say is, if you RSVP they'll send you two tickets, which will admit two, but nobody knows how to communicate anymore

Yeah, I've come to expect bad, businessy English (or confused pseudolegalese) as the norm.
