It's a bad read of European history, too. Lots of stuff happened. Just not the sort of stuff historians get very excited about, so it's understudied.

I've seen a couple of people now tweeting that they've met and talked with the guy, and he's literally stupid when it comes to anything but chess. A true idiot savant one called him. Wouldn't surprise me given his Twitter feed.
