Sure. Why the fuck is everyone so interested in the long-term strategic and tactical elements of the game when most matches are decided on about 3 minutes of luck, fuckups and/or exceptional talent?

I'm coming at this from a strategy game background, where skill is important but prep wins tournaments 98% of the time. It's really obvious how different it is in a football context, IMO. The game is analog, organic, so natural variance is higher - as is room for 1-person plays.

I'm not saying that's wrong. Saying it feels weird to me since football has more star potential and room for one person to carry a match than any game I play (except 1v1 games like Chess, but again, the rules are usually more restrictive).
