AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
This is a really funny idea, actually. Ian and I certainly have an interesting dynamic. Both equally opinionated, one vastly more competent.
I'm not sure if I have any redeeming qualities, but it would probably be fun for others regardless.
I'll ask Ian.

Not sure what you think isn't true?
There is one interesting point in my favor: I learned a lot of the lessons Ian learned fairly late, fairly early. Similar strengths & flaws.
There are other lessons he's learned I'll probably never learn, though. Different strengths & flaws.

He thinks you're competent. In fact, right now, you're probably a better meditator than I am. (I've been better in the past, and will be again, with a bit of luck and diligence). But I'm an old intellectual with good judgment on intellectual matters.

there's a strong cultural more that says if you're good at something you should never really just say it. I understand it's particular strong in the Nordic countries. Still plenty in Anglo ones though.
Especially never say you're smart ;) People get super offended.

it's funny, really, because beyond a certain point, I've never found being smart very useful. Being driven or having good social skills is far more useful.

That's my standard critique when people get very uppity about it.
It's inevitably the asshole who feels comfortable passing judgement on people's social skills who is easily offended by statements on intelligence.
