Yeah, but it doesn't real address THE point, which is that this is a standard founding myth that Buddhists pay inordinate attention to for some reason.

Well, what is suffering? If it's the second dart, you absolutely can get rid of it. Shows up on brain scans. If it's the first -- to some extent I think it's possible. I've been able to dismiss pain at times. Only small amounts, but I'm not very advanced or good.

distress does. Had some 50K monks undergo pain, along with normal people. distress showed up on both. But the normal people had distress after, and when told they had to do it again. The monks didn't.

yeah, for most people most of suffering is anticipation or trauma/memories. It is for me, and I've had a life with a lot of real pain and nauseau and so on compared to most.
