Yeah this stuff is fascinating science. It's also old news. I wish people would come to terms with it in a sane way, but that's also outside the framework of our standard code. Massively so, as biases had (and still have!) connections to traits that confer survival advantages.

Biases keep humanity alive. Example: the common bias where a man sees an attractive woman and automatically assumes she wants him. Evolutionary advantage: he is going to be more likely to confidently approach her, making procreation more likely. It's dead simple.

There is also more than one niche. Some traits are not BROADLY adaptive, but are parasitic and so serve to propagate themselves. E.g. antisocial traits in men. They get many kids. They are terrible parents, and do real damage to the women who raise their kids. But they spread.
