People don't seem willing to accept it in spite of the overwhelming evidence to suggest it's the case, but you don't need to be a... - bot - paid shill - ideologically captured - or anything of the kind ... in order to act as an intelligence asset.

If there's one thing social media really highlights, it's that virtually everyone sucks at filtering information from people they trust. It's extremely easy to contaminate someone's filters with BS. In fact, it's probably happening to everyone who isn't a hermit.

Education makes you more biased. Intelligence makes you more susceptible to some biases (less so to others), and so on and so forth. There is no obvious out, certainly nothing you can just start doing tomorrow to stop believing BS all the time.

So unless speaking to the particular dealings of a particular person, it seems a broad marker of ignorance to talk about these things as affecting only certain groups. Affecting certain groups worse than others? Sure. But everyone is affected...
