I've been dancing around the edge of it for a long time, but it seems it's a while since I passed into the second part of the old aphorism: "Once begun, best to finish."

It's not only about that. I just recently got my meditation practice fully working again after a long period of half-assed practice. Total transformation while it's there. It's probably one of the few things in life I'm genuinely good at. But it changes everything else, too.

I really wish people would actually *say* the fine print. Like, nothing that is amazingly powerful is also completely safe (see: medication) But also: yep.

I think it's also a matter of experience. I've been practicing meditation on and off for 10 years. There was always weird stuff happening, but the last two years had more than the first eight put together. Some people hit the really weird stuff sooner; others never.
