In all four cases, I'd ask why the earlier work can show so much heart if the later work is going to be so heartless (or at least cynical?) I'll conceed I could have been just flat-out fooled, but it is also worth thinknig of the lines from the Daodejing: ++

I think they all *still* have it, to be honest. Lovecraft is one of my fav. writers. He was also a pretty terrible person. Doesn't make his passion for New England architecture less authentic.

Fair points, all. It is interesting, though, how the early work shows the highest Quality (term of art from Prisig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintence), the most humility, and the most focus on domains they actually know.
