We must address child care deserts in WI. They have long-lasting policy implications, including detrimental effects on family economic security & women’s equality in the workforce. We must invest in affordable, quality child care & in construction & renovation of infrastructure.
And this isn’t an issue that just affects child care. We need to address caregiver deserts for our special needs populations & for our elderly. Our caregivers do important work taking care of our most vulnerable populations & they must be valued for that work with a living wage.
