    Important thread on the 'Trust everything your government says or you're a stooge of our enemies' approach the Biden administration is serving up to journalists today. Insulting to the intelligence of the public.

    At today's WH and State Dept press briefings, reporters pressed for evidence to back up U.S. gov't statements about recent events in Syria and Russia, respectively. In response, officials suggested those reporters might be more inclined to believe ISIS/the Kremlin. Yikes. 1/x

    Rainey gave me my first job out of law school (my dream job at that) and was the best boss I ever had. She made a HUGE mark on civil liberties. Very sad for , very happy I get to keep working with her on the board of , and can't wait to see what she does next.

    Why is this so important? can change its rules for spying on reporters with the stroke of a pen. Until they are passed into law, they are virtually unenforceable. DOJ promised to support a bill to do just that. So far, they have refused.
