It's unfortunate that during my education I was made to internalize messages like "Arguments should make sense" and "You shouldn't make shit up." Really didn't prepare me for the present moment.

I recently had a conversation with a person in a top Education Ph.D program about epistemological stances. I'm a STEMlord so I said with absolute certainty that there is a measurable objective reality that would continue to exist in much the same way if humans went extinct. (1/2)

Their reply was it's important for me to realize that it's not "just true". It's a result of the epistemic stance I have and that it's not only uncertain whether the world would continue to turn, but also that it's uncertain that the concept of truth I used is a valid one.

He's right in many ways as your conception and notion of "objectivity," "reality," and "Truth" have all been informed and mediated by your language and culture. You never received or ideated them in a "pure" form

It can't "clearly" be a problem of his since the existence of an intellectual deficiency is merely the result of culturally mediated perceptions. The idea of "intellectual deficiency" results from an a priori assumption of a hierarchy of intellectual validity.

Ditto. And here I was just about to thank him for his willingness to acknowledge that he was wrong and I was right when so few people show that level of humility on Twitter. That's how I perceived his tweets at least.
