We should stop calling conspiracy theories and critical theories "theories" and start calling them (modern-day) superstitions.

Doesn't every investigation of a conspiracy start with a hypothesis about a conspiracy? Colloquially don't people use the term "theory" to mean "hypothesis?" Ergo, doesn't every investigation into a potential conspiracy require a conspiracy theory?
