You answered your own argument. Go for STEM degrees, stay away from liberal arts. Then colleges work.
That is contrary to your claim that "more college = more money" and that there is a direct correlation between a degree an income.

Squares=Rectangles This means all squares must be rectangles. This is logic. More college=more money This means college degrees result in more money. It logically flows from this that no more specifics about background or degree are required for it to hold true. This is logic.
