I think community college is a better move than 4-year for at least 90% of kids If you didn’t get into an Ivy League school you’re better off doing college on the cheap https://twitter.com/njcarbonaro/status/1220009987579113473 …

They say on average you make $1 million more over the course of your career with a college degree. If you put the AVERAGE cost of tuition at an INSTATE, PUBLIC college into a mutual fund for 50 years you would make about $1 million. Objectively, college is a bad investment.

Average salary with a high school degree is not <$30k, it's $35k. Average salary with a college degree is not $100k, it's <$60k. Post degree income also correlates with starting wealth. The bottom 20% see no increase in earnings with a degree. ...You're perfect for Twitter.

I agree people don’t have the money to pay for college out of pocket. Why not let them borrow the money for other things? Why not to start a business? Or buy a home? Or put in a mutual fund? The argument is college leads to higher earnings, but we can see that isn’t true.

Student loans do not require collateral. Why do we allow young people to borrow without collateral for college but not the other things?
