Better idea: Double the yearly tax writeoff for student loan repayment (currently a 2,500 dollar cap) to 5,000 dollars, and raise the income limit for the graduated writeoff from its current level (I believe currently at 74,000 a year?) Double it.
I have a better idea than either of you. Stop telling people to go to college. Lowered attendance will drive down costs and fewer graduates will increase the value of the degree. Going to college was the biggest mistake I ever made.
