    I was born here. My family’s been here since the 1850s. I am so tired of people who moved to Texas because they see it as a conservative fantasy land telling people born here we don’t belong. And I’m so tired of the rest of country seeing people like this as the face of Texas.

    If we lose the culture, we lose jobs and our economy. If you don’t like how we do things in Texas, leave. Quickly.

    When I was a public school teacher, I struggled to make ends meet. My coworkers drove Ubers at night and sold their blood plasma for extra money. Today I filed a bill mandating a minimum salary of $70,000 for every teacher in Texas.

    I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and picking back up old hobbies. I will continue to fight for progressive causes here in Brazoria County, and help to shine a light on inequities and injustices here and across the state.

    I am proud of the campaign we were able to run and given the chance to redo anything we've done this cycle, I would still choose to run the way we did; with grassroots activism and small dollar donations. Ultimately, our efforts were unsuccessful.

    Friends, Thanks to everyone who has supported my campaign over the past year. Whether you donated, volunteered, voted for me, or simply cheered me on from a distance, the fact that we were able to reach so many people from every corner of the country means a great deal to me.

    Another 148 doors with my friend in the ultra critical Texas House race for Travis will be the one to flip Brazoria county. I(Fort Bend) and Marcel (Harris) have travelled to every day the past 2 weeks because we believe.
