U.S. citizens, especially with underlying conditions, should not travel by cruise ship. #CDC notes increased risk of #COVID19 on cruises. Many countries have implemented screening procedures, denied port entry rights to ships and prevented disembarking. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/before-you-go/travelers-with-special-considerations/cruise-ship-passengers.html?fbclid=IwAR23mRlu4-382HLuSM8i0KWQBSaZ4heDniggmxR3kBR6e2EgWiKr6B0EseM …pic.twitter.com/jI6S0UceVg

But the cruise ships are still running, and people who paid will still board.

What about airplanes? They are even more contained than cruise ships...

The WH instructed CDC NOT to state that elderly or frail should not fly. Hmm, I guess the airline industry pays more bribes than the cruise lines.

Soon, the US government will figure out how to test people, too (and I don’t mean this pathetic narrow net where we ignore symptoms unless the person has travel history or a contact who travelled).

For anyone unaware: the local health departments, who generally make the call about who gets tested, are still only testing and properly protecting our medical staff if the patient meets this criteria. That is the case with the two health departments I was in touch with this week

@MSCCruises_PR This should allow me to cancel and have my money refunded for my April 4 and April 11 cruises out of Dubai.

@CarnivalCruise This should allow me to cancel and have my money refunded. I’m not putting my 78 year old mother and 6 year old granddaughter daughter at risk. This was supposed to be graduation gift for my daughter. Puts too many family members at risk.
