    : Due to security threats at the airport, we continue to advise U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates. Those at Abbey gate, East gate, North gate or New Ministry of Interior gate should leave immediately.

  4. : Large protests are scheduled in Bratislava and Kosice on Sept 1 from 11AM - 8PM. Although organizers intend for the demonstrations to be peaceful, outside organizations could take advantage of any protest to promote their own agendas.

  7. : Do not travel to Saint Lucia due to COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19 in the country.

  8. The New Orleans Passport Center is closed on Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1 due to the effects of Hurricane Ida. Previously scheduled appointments will be rescheduled.

  9. : The U.S. Embassy in Kabul suspended operations on August 31, 2021. While the U.S. government has withdrawn its personnel from Kabul, we will continue to assist U.S. citizens and their families in Afghanistan from Doha, Qatar.

    : A disruptive and potentially violent demonstration against the health pass is expected to take place on August 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Lyon. Multiple other demonstrations against the health pass are again expected throughout France on Saturday.

    : A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Pinar del Rio and Artemisa, and the Isle of Youth. Tropical Storm Warning for Matanzas, Mayabeque, and Havana. Life-threatening heavy rains, flash flooding, and mudslides expected across western Cuba.

    : Demonstrations, unrest, and police activity continue in Haut Katanga, Lualaba, and Tanganyika Provinces. It is unclear when the situation there will stabilize or turn violent. The U.S. Embassy is withdrawing personnel traveling in these areas.

    : A demonstration is scheduled to take place on August 28 near Solomou Square at 08:30 and march to the U.S. Embassy and UN offices. The demonstration is expected to last until noon and be peaceful. A strong police presence is also expected.
