Now, ICE continues to shirk responsibility by withholding records and neglecting to conduct a comprehensive investigation into her death.

First, No where in the article says she was a criminal. Second, that’s asylum when you’re seeking temporary aid/reprieve from the hellish conditions from which you are fleeing. THAT is asylum.

is it acceptable that someone dies in ICE custody under suspicious circumstances that are then covered up if they have a criminal record?
