If people gave a 10th of a shit about some indie queer IP as they did about whatever shit a bigot made that was popular when they were a teen or kid we would have a radically queerer art world.

Reclaiming HP or any other property made by bigots for the queers is not radical or funny or fun, it's raising the value of that IP. I fucking hate seeing the amount of effort that people put into "fixing" some shit from a big company when queer creators are so fucking poor.

I feel like folks are gonna act like its hypocritical that I like/make cthulhu mythos stuff but harry potter makes my skin crawl. But lovecraft is both open source AND dead which is a fantastic combo!

Also the best writers in the Cthulhu mythos have literally nothing to do with Lovecraft, which makes it better! Hundredish years of separation vs a decade?ish?

its valid that you're angry about the HP thing but MANY people, especially queer folk loved the HP series when they were younger as they related to Harry/ wish they could be him. That shouldn't be taken away if they choose to separate the art from the artist-a valid thing to do.
