      I started out with Black Label Johnny Walker and almost gave up on Whisky, but it turned out each Whisky tastes a lot different than the other that you might just end up finding some bottles you like. In this line up here I do have favourite and less favourite friends :P

      They do vary a lot. Like yes it will taste alcohol-y no matter what, so if you hate the smell of alcohol then you will hate it, but just in the scotch (scottish) single malt family, the flavours combo are already crazy. Just choose a few on this chart 😂 https://i.imgur.com/9K2O6.jpg

      like, look at those 2 bottles from the "mainly woody" category and they already are quite different. Chose a category you feel the most safe (for me are sweet/fruity categories) and start from there.pic.twitter.com/YCcVc7o3QG

      I use https://www.masterofmalt.com/  before I decide to buy a bottle, since I quite agree with their taste reviews (they tell you what they smell/taste from that particular line). Or buy one of those tasting sets and try out a few types before committing to any bottle.

      There's a Whiskey shop like 30km from where I live with a huge assortment. I think I'll stop by there at some point (they also do tastings)

      Yeah I guess having a pro there and telling them you are new and you would like to stay in so and so category would be great, they would be able to recommend you some good stuff :D
