Amazing! that's so cool. I had kind of the same experience with Franz Ferdinand. I was the only one in the front without a phone filming Take Me Out so they looked surprised when they saw me :D

Yeah Elton remembers my face and probably my name and kept interacting with me whenever I managed front row
It’s fun but at first I always got awkward af when he stopped walking and said “hi, I remember you”
Elton remembers many of us regulars though so that’s neat.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

It’s so funny though because he knows I’m VNese (I wrote him a few times) and during Daniel, the video screen shows VN war footage and he always looked at me like “you like it?” Daniel is one of my least favorite Elton John songs

Lol I jebaited him into talking about football twice, once during the 2010 WC (before Ger 4-1 Eng). He went on a salty mini-rant about the Ger team getting the match ball 1 week before Eng team. Then he BM’ed the Austrian team (“Your team isn’t in the tournament anyway
”)

Anyway since Tiny Dancer, Your Song and Candle In The Wind are “basic bitches” choices, I wish ppl would look into/ cover the rest of EJ’s catalogue more. The man wrote ~500 songs, many are hits, even more of them are great and the live versions are always A LOT better

https://youtu.be/pDO8VAs9oWI take this 12’+ Rocket Man with so much improvisation. Or this 10’ (can go even longer and with more jamming) Levon: https://youtu.be/Qiae9paO1aM no two days are completely the same and he kept changing them they might as well be new songs.

Not only can he rock out with a band, he can do it with a full orchestra https://youtu.be/vschhZ7TxIM or completely alone https://youtu.be/HG_q8dO_DRY . People listened go 3-4 of his studio recorded hit ballads and totally slept on how rocking this guy is.

Rocketman was really good for the limited time it had (winning awards left and right right now). If it was up to me tho it’d be a 7-10 episodes HBO series since there’s just SO MUCH to cover.
I was a bit salty they didn’t manage to cram his bandmates in + many other things
