that's the point where they realized the laid off too many? i get it though, mid-level leaders see more than higher ups do but when higher ups issue directives, it's gotta be executed on, and then when those directives turn out to be wrong, now they gotta fix the overcorrection
Starting salary is lower than the salary of someone who has been there for a while so it's "saving money" if you refill a position with someone fresh.

that becomes the same issue i see on the military side where you have higher echelons managing manpower at the lower levels with no respect for what the actual team needs and goals are, they only care for metrics/$$$

sure that's with any company, and blizzard's starting salaries are also notorious for being lower than industry standard. but it's also not good for the health of corporate culture. the clash between accounting and the loss of talent and internal mentorship
