What was the leak about?

Contenders all online, not LAN, soft region lock for non-NA (less teams), less money, all non-academy teams to requalify, 2 seasons only. World cup no longer high priority. Could be changed due to the backslash/to clarify misunderstandings.

Hmm I understand Contenders production is no longer viable : viewerships were dreadful despite good work from broadcasters. Same goes for World Cup, but I find it a unique way for upcoming talent to break through. Protecting Academy teams does seem an unfair advantage though

It looks like to become pro now you have to have a bunch of money first so you can actually train because you aint gonna earn it in contenders. Now, if only those Korean boys who were gonna try for Contenders in OW would go for the GSL next year :P

The reason I respect Starcraft so much is that it is purely skill based. But the end may be nearing too: a lot of even the best players are now free agents. I hope Blizzard keeps supporting it - the games continue to be amazing and the skill and dedication is endless

the thing about sc2 is it is now mature enough as a game and a community that it only needs Blizz's help and not wholly dependent, I think. OW, in contrast, I feel like if Blizz doesn't hold its hand every step, is gonna crumble.

At this point I dont think SC2 can die anymore, people have already stepped up. If Blizz pulls the plug, it will hurt badly but it will not die. OW doesn't have such a strong backing force though, esp since Blizz killed the endemic scene.

Also supporting/running SC2 tourneys is a whole lot cheaper lol.

Yeah - or, rather - OWL is massively expensive. Multiple player teams with comparatively high guaranteed contracts, big production, moderate and declining viewerships, less mature community (although American OWL fans are great)

I don't hate OWL though, but I have loved and hurt so much with SC that I am not prepared to give my heart away like that to another game anymore. I'm just a normal spectator when it comes to OW, whatever happens happens. It's entertaining rn and that's good enough.

Yeah I wonder what they're gonna announce at BlizzCon. I'm nowhere near an fps player but I was super passionate about Overwatch. Still am, but it's leveling out a bit :3

And there's nothing more hype than Byun's 2016 glory, the Scarlett vs Bomber game and yesterday's Juanito pwnage xD
