@Toure I already work hard to provide my myself, my family. Why is it my responsibility to subsidize an underachiever who isn't a relative?

@kateinva Because we live in a community and that means taking care of one another. Also we know that helping the least is good policy.

@Toure Charity is great, and voluntary. Govt redistribution is theft. I have enough responsibilities without taking on strangers.

@kateinva Gov redistribution is not theft but it is a reasonable political debate and it's decided many elections over many decades.

@Toure The fact it's legal doesn't mean it's not theft at its core. It's not voluntary, and no service is provided for that money.

@kateinva You pay taxes to pave road you'll never use or beautify parks you'll never see, etc. Helping the least fortunate is part of that.
