Great. What happened if there is vite for her deal though? May has already delayed and there is talk of another delay? You advocating we sit and esit for a no deal? Cause that's the default here....
-
-
-
What do you propose?
-
I'm asking you what the alternative is? You're condemning the "peoples vote crew"? JC attempted to raise a "motion of no confidence in the prime minister" which turned out to be a waste of time, so what do you propose to the "peoples vote crew" to get them on side?
-
What is your solution? Tell me?
-
You're trying to sell to me that Corbyn is doing the right thing and that he shouldn't be attacked by the "peoples vote crew". May has already delayed - what then if she continues delaying until no deal, simply sit and accept no deal thrust upon us? I'm asking you?
-
Your inability to suggest a solution is illuminating.
-
Your inability to suggest what happens if may continues to delay the vote, which she has ALREADY done is even more illuminating.
-
@WillemFaz I would really appreciate your reply, as I dont see any other sensible way forward for Labour... but you seem to be implying there is another way - while never giving any detail. - 5 more replies

Isn't the fact you don't have 50% of MPs the reason you said Corbyn couldn't call for a 2nd referendum? So why is it different calling a no-confidence motion?
-
Good question. 25 of our MPs would rebel if we asked them to vote for a 2nd Ref. 100% of our MPs will back us in a no-confidence motion. Even the Brexiteer MPs will back us in a No-Confidence Motion.
-
The Tory MPs and neither will the DUP vote against the government. The confidence motion needs to be against the government and not May. Will Labour then be ready to move onto a
#PeoplesVote or#RepealArticle50 ? Asking for a worried nation. -
Talk me through it procedurally. Jeremy backs PV. What happens next? You guys have shouted about this for 2 years. Enlighten me. What happens next to convert that into a reality?
-
As I see it 1. Get Benn amendment through to prevent no deal. 2. Get PV amendment through so Mays deal can only be ratified by referendum. 3. Request A50 extension to give time for vote.
-
You will not get an extension without option to remain

The suggestion that the DUP will support Labour is ludicrous Eoin. They have, for the first time in their Party history, a real grip on power. They will never give that up to topple the Tories. And Labour should not be in the business of doing a deal with ultra-right wing bigots.
-
That’s sadly true. DUP are quite ‘relaxed’ about No Deal. The only real hope is that remainer Tories do resign the whip and abstain in a VONC when No Deal becomes Tory policy.
-
They won't. They never rebel when it matters. But will be good to flush them out once and for all.

It will interesting to see how many of the PLP disobey and how many Tories buckle along with the DUP and the current former Labour Rebels. Jeremey should remove the Labour whip from any PLP member who fails to vote incuding any who abstain. This is the point of no return.

There is already a no-confidence motion in the Government on the table. All Jeremy has to do is sign it. It's been on the table for weeks. He hasn't signed. Why?
-
Because it has zero chance of passing and will only bolster May's position. The original motion of no- confidence in the PM stood a good chance of passing but the minor parties sabotaged it.
-
It could pass if the DUP support it.
-
Yes, but they won't.
-
Have they said as much?
-
Yes, I forget which one it was but he said as much on Radio 4.
-
Hmm. I guess that's a fair point then.
