I can't begin to keep up with the OMG-ness on my feed... Secret Service. Flynn. Reproductive and Trans rights violations.
So I am living for the promising glimpses of the #TexasDemocraticConvention and the huge Dem fundraising reports!

You probably have a lot of questions about the grid today
Here’s what’s happening, how we got here, and how I’d fix the damn grid.

I see Gen X is trending. Many words are being shared, and I have many thoughts, but...in true GenX fashion? The ennui overcomes me and I'm like, eh... WHATEVER.

Another day of doom watching the #Ercot dashboard, wondering if they can keep pulling very expensive rabbits out of their hat. #FixTheDamnGrid

Wondering why the Energy Capital of the World is about to run out of power? IT AIN'T THE WIND. The liars are lying. Again. (this is a great thread. go. read.)
Quote Tweet
The PUCT and ERCOT have neglected some of the best solutions for the grid and customers—such as energy efficiency and demand response—and implemented very expensive (and apparently ineffective) ones. Now they're attempting to blame wind for their continued problems.

Yepp, Texas has serious threats of rolling blackouts today, supposedly 30 minutes. I'm very heat sensitive, but will I'll be ok for that long... hot but ok. But Texans remember our winter's "rolling blackouts" that didn't roll. That's my biggest personal fear.

I... uh... Cern? Can you turn the Collider back off, please? I think we're going the wrong direction!
Note: THIS IS SATIRE. Until my house turns into a black hole, I'm gonna blame this messy world on its human inhabitants & not -- um -- their inventions. Oh. Oops. Never mind.

I may be about to find my voice again, maybe even make an image or two in the next week? I've got a hell of a lot to do, but even more to say, so... Yeah. I think it's time?

Watching the J6th hearing, and apparently so is Trump . Reportedly he is on Truth Social demanding "equal time!" Dude. You've been offered multiple chances to appear before this committee. Besides, we already know what you'll say. Again.

End of Rant. For now. (and I'll make the next rant easier to follow)
I mean... I knew the GOP, and especially the Texas GOP, had devolved into something unrecognizable as American. But somehow, I thought they were better than this. They aren't.
Can you even hear yourselves? Step away from the guns. Stop protecting weapons over PEOPLE. And find solutions *other* than individuals arming ourselves to the hilt. Your tired arguments about the right to armed revolution? It's not going to go the way you think.
Enough with the sudden GOP lip service to mental health... you've stripped that budget to nothing. Enough with the cries to "harden the schools!". Turning schools into prisons does nothing towards attacks at churches, concerts, groceries, etc etc etc.

The GOP sure as hell isn't concerned about OTHER constitutional rights and freedoms; they're censoring books & schools. They're stripping reproductive rights, using CPS to harass trans teens, and on and on. But it's only the 2nd amendment that matters, their interpretation of it
What are you afraid of? Whose rights are trampled by an expanded background check? By returning the age limit to 21? And you won't even talk about even those first simple baby steps, because ... what? You're afraid of losing your NRA funding?
The GOP desperation to protect any and all access to GUNS over the lives of children is mind blowing. I knew it was bad, but... really? It's THIS BAD? They still don't even want to discuss gun laws? It's mental health! It's doors! Harden the schools! Arm the teachers! JFC
I've been without proper internet access for a week, and now that I can speak up? There is a firehose of thoughts and anger pushing to get out. It's too much. It's just too damn much.
I've been thinking (and feeling) this all day. It WAS worse.

Abbott, like Desantis, proves GOP is no longer business friendly. Their culture wars are more important than our economy, our kids, our health & our personal rights. #BetoForTexas

Consider how TX is already charging parents of trans kids with child abuse, requiring schools etc to report it. Now apply that to helping your own child seek reproductive care from birth control to Plan B to an abortion. IT CAN HAPPEN.
Show this thread
Think this is over the top, would never happen? In MO GOPers considered allowing lawsuits against residents traveling out of state to get an abortion. LA's latest would make abortion murder, from the moment of conception. TX charged a woman with murder after she self-induced.

Like so much of what's happened during and since 2016, I can't really process the SCOTUS news. The leak. The justification for the ruling and its implications for other rights.
So happy to see this topic finally get mainstream media coverage! #birdsarentreal *chirp chirp SQUAWK!*

When wealth is so concentrated in a few individuals that they can buy *whatever* and potentially use it for huge political/social influence? (See Murdoch, R.) It's concerning. I don't know what Elon will do. It could be good, it could be bad, but I don't like the potential.
