Mr. President, call off the raids.
Families will be separated— which is unacceptable, immoral, and cruel.
America must be better than this. #FamiliesBelongTogetherhttps://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1149294788514070531 …

Rep Cummings. We need you as a legislature member to do what you are suppossed to do and make laws and reform immigration. Executive branch just enforces laws. YOUR branch makes them.

Bills need to pass both houses, and the Republican controlled senate is in favor of deportation. It’s not in favor of letting them stay.

They've already had their opportunity to present their case in front of a judge. The judge denied and issued final deportation orders. Now the law is being enforced.

Yup that’s just reality. It really sucks for the families that will be torn apart by it. I wish you guys had more empathy. Could have made a deal to allow them to fix their papers.

Those being deported are citizens of foreign countries. They are not American citizens. I really wish your side understood that.

Well, I understand it. It’s not actually the citizenship that matters, it’s having the paperwork to live and work here. It’s very expensive, and if you don’t have it, you can be deported. But just because someone isn’t a citizen, doesn’t mean they are undeserving of empathy.

You're a good person, and so am I. But we are a nation of laws. Come to our country legally, like my dad did, do it the right way.

They couldn’t afford to, they didn’t have enough money. We could have made it cheaper and easier, but some people didn’t want to do that. Do you want to make it cheaper and easier for them to get their paperwork?

I am friends with a gentleman who lost EVERYTHING when Castro came to power. He was put in prison for being a journalist. When released, he came to America with nothing. Long story short, he's lived the American dream with hard work and became successful. No handouts required

So i guess that’s a no then. Let’s just be honest, South America is falling apart, refugees are coming, and trumps policies are aimed at keeping the refugees out. They will never get the opportunity your friend had to work hard and have a good life.
