The boy is clearly traumatized, almost without emotion.

That’s what I noticed too. God knows what they did to him. He should be taken to a hospital to get checked out bcuz I don’t trust the people that held him hostage. Those kids will be traumatized for a very long time. My heart is aching for them.

The trauma is for life. I had this happen to me where I thought I would never see my mother again b/c my father put it in my head that she didn't want me. "She abandoned you, she left you, she doesn't want you anymore." One can develop depression and PTSD from this. I have them.

And courage to speak...

Abusers pound fear into victims. I refuse to keep secrets any longer.

This started when I was 2 & any abuse that came my way did not stop until I was 20. His control was why it didn't stop until 18 years later. Financial control, still psychological. He even told me that he's not a father & refuses that title. He put himself a "Financial parent"

Mine used "legal responsibility". He wrote me out of his will when I confronted him with his violence and rage states. It's an almost schizophrenic denial.

The child was actually frozen for a moment. It took her arms around him and her voice for him to melt. He didn’t know if it was real at first.

Correct. Trauma does that to children. It might take years for his trust to be restored.

Damage is done. He will probably develop an anxiety disorder, PTSD, and Depression from this. That's what things like this do to a child.
