    Agreed. It provides key data on the state of air quality, biodiversity, water quality etc. Such comparator information is essential to reliably monitor and address transboundary environmental issues. Also is a leader in knowledge for socioeconomic transformations

    For the entire history of capitalism, new sources of energy have been *added on top of* older ones. The same thing is happening now with renewables. We can't pretend that scaling up clean energy is enough to stop climate breakdown. We have to actively *scale down* fossil fuels.
