I'm glad that we're beginning to see some academic research on immigrants' lives under Trump. But I really wish that there had been more of a pre-Trump baseline established.

... and pre-/post-2016 measures in attempts to isolate causal effects (i.e., diff-in-diff, etc.). I know election year is a coarse measure, but some work in the pipeline is also seeking FOIA data to exploit geographic variation in enforcement.
