Wasn't that poll about coronavirus-related restrictions? It could be that people are separating their feelings about immigration *at this exact moment* with immigration *in general.*
I agree with Aaron. I just reviewed the WaPo poll and it asked about "temporarily blocking [...] during the coronavirus outbreak"
